Sound practices on the scope: the Afro-esmeraldenian and the Waorani people from Ecuador

(Vortrag in englischer Sprache)

Sound practices, which also include music, constitute a fundamental field of approach to different cultural contexts. The study, both of their formal characteristics and of the spheres in which sounds are presented, reveal to us possible conceptual and procedural tools for creative practice, from our own ways of understanding sound, also inspiring an enriching dialogue of mutual recognition.

Ecuador, an extraordinarily diverse territory, is home to numerous cultures whose sound practices bring us closer to an extraordinary perception of space and territory. From the Amazon jungle and the Pacific coast, two illustrative examples will guide us in this sonic immersion.
